The exhibition of final entries in the selection of the "Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing" logo is one of the important activities of the first Beijing 2008 Olympic Culture Festival. When it was first displayed in the Millennium Monument in Beijing, the exhibition arosed great enthusiam among Beijing residents.  In order to increase the influence of the Beijing Olympic logo in the country and promote the Olympic Movement among the Chinese people, the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) decided to hold the Beijing Olympic emblem exhibition and the university students poster design exhibition in the cities that will host some of the competitions of the Beijing Olympic Games, including Qingdao, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang and Qinhuangdao.

At the opening ceremony, Vice-Mayor of Qingdao Zang Aimin said the exhibitions had great significance for inspiring patriotic passion and raising national spirit of the Chinese people and for pushing forward Qingdao's  preparation for the Olympic Games. He said the city would take the opportunity of the exhibitions to promote the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games among the whole society so as to create a favorable environment for the Olympic Games.

Sun Weijia, director of BOCOG Media and Communication Department, said the "Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing" logo was a perfect union of the Olympic spirit and the long-standingChinese culture. He said the logo expressed the Chinese people's understanding of the Olympic spirit. It was a unique contribution that the Beijing Olympic Games made to the Olympic design and would become an important cultural heritage in the history of the Olympic Movement. Sun said Qingdao was a city of rich cultural traditions. He said holding the exhibitions in the city would help disseminate knowledge of the Olympics, promote the integration of Chinese culture and the Olympic spirit and spread the concept of "People's Olympics".

The exhibitions were jointly sponsored by the BOCOG and the Sailing Sub-committee (Qingdao). A total of 369 frames of exhibits were displayed at the exhibitions. The contents included the process of collecting and selecting the logo of the  Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, prize-winning designs at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Design Contest, the seal of the "Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing" logo and the Beijing 2008 University Students Olympic Poster Design Exhibition. In order to let the common people participate in the Olympic Games, the exhibitions allowed visitors to stamp their personal seals on a banner of the "Chinese seal, Dancing Beijing" logo.
