Qingdao Railway Station renovation project, a major project serving for 2008 Olympic Games, includes a new hall, a new square, several new platforms and other auxiliary facilities. It is expected that its main structure will be completed lately. Construction of Qingdao railway station officially started in January 2007 by China Railway Tenth Group Company Limited. New technologies like tunneling and underground space technology, process supervision and control, and beam framework technology, have been applied to the construction. It has not only improved efficiency but also saved investment cost and ensured the construction quality, which meets the goal of Beijing Olympic Games, “Hi-tech Olympics & People’s Olympics”.
