(Beijing May 26) The 71st International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Congress closed in Beijing on May 24.

Feng Jianzhong, vice minister of the General Administration of Sport and honorary president of the China Sport Press Association, AIPS president Gianni Merlo and Jiang Xiaoyu, executive vice-president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) attended the closing ceremony.

Gianni Merlo expressed gratitude to Beijing for hosting such a wonderful event, saying the medial facilities are already available to journalists for the upcoming Olympics.

fter the ceremony, the AIPS flag was handed over from Jiang Xiaoyu to Gianni Merlo. The next AIPS Congress will be held in Milan, Italy.
