KARACHI, December 19, 2011 - The visit of Chinese hockey team this week will help revive international sports activities in Pakistan that has been isolated after the Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked by terrorists in Lahore on March 3, 2009.
The silver medallist of Doha Asian Games, China is arriving Karachi today, Monday, December 19 to play four tests matches including two in Karachi’s historic Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium on December 21 and 22. Other two tests will be played in industrial city of Faislabad on December 24 and in Punjab’s capital Lahore on December 26.
The organizers Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) with the assistance of security agencies have promised foolproof security for the tourists during their stay in terrorism-hit country.
Though there are over forty national federations but all have failed to host foreign teams except Pakistan Boxing Federation which had successfully hosted an international boxing event in Karachi three years ago and again organizing second international event from December 22 in federal capital Islamabad.
