Yang Shu'an meets Malaysian and Turkmenistan visitors

24 April 2012, Beijing - Yang Shu'an, China's Vice Minister in charge of the General Administration of Sport (GASC) and Vice President of the All-China Sports Federation, met on separate occasions with the visiting Malaysian and Turkmenistan sports delegations in Beijing on 23 April 2012.

During his meeting with Hon. Dato' Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia, Yang stressed that both youth and sport are important undertakings closely related to each other. Sport can bring people a healthy life style and harmonious social life, he noted, while young people, by throwing themselves into sports activities, strive constantly to seek progress and become stronger. He hoped that young people between Malaysia and China would make more exchanges through sport and become a neuclear force for developing friendlier ties between the two countries. The Malaysian Minister of Youth and Sports said he was impressed with China's rapid development and hoped the two countries would continue to work closely in the sports field. He wished the Chinese Sports Delegation good luck at the upcoming London Olympic Games.

In his meeting with the visiting delegation from the State Sports and Tourism Committee of Turkmenistan, Yang Shu'an expressed his wishes to carry out more sports exchanges and cooperation programs with Turkmenistan to further promote friendship between the two countries, and offered to share China's experience in organizing large-scale international multi-sport meets, as Ashgabat of Turkmenistan will be the host city of the 5th Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in 2017.
