29 April 2015 - On 28 April 2015, Liu Peng, Director of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC), met with a delegation led by Tsang Tak-sing, Secretary for Home Affairs of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
Liu welcomed the delegation on behalf of GASC, acclaimed the great progress of Hong Kong's sports cause in recent years, and expected the sports circles on both sides to constantly consolidate and deepen sports exchanges and cooperation under the principles of "one country, two systems", "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" and "a high degree of autonomy", and give play to the unique role of sports in bringing people together and promoting harmony, thus making new contributions to promoting the sports development of both sides, enhancing the friendship between compatriots on both sides and constructing harmonious and prosperous Hong Kong.
Tsang thanked GASC for its long-term strong support for Hong Kong's sports development, expecting to further cement the two sides' exchanges and cooperation in fields such as competitive sports and mass sports, so as to promote Hong Kong's sports to make greater progress.
The two sides also exchanged opinions on Hong Kong's participation in the 1st National Youth Game and the 13th National Winter Games, both sides' football development and other relevant issues. Present were Song Luzeng, Director of the External Affairs Department of GASC, as well as heads of the Competition and Training Department and the Football Administrative Center of GASC.
