GAGOC unveils official uniforms

Guangzhou, May 19 - The Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) was pleased to unveil the official uniforms for volunteers, staff and technical officials for the upcoming Asian Games on Tuesday at Tianhe Gymnasium of Guangzhou.

Officiating officials at the debut ceremony included Manuel Silverio, Chairman of the OCA Media Committee, Xu Ruisheng, Executive Deputy Secretary General of GAGOC and Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, Ye Xiquan, Deputy Secretary General of GAGOC and Guangzhou, Lin Daoping, Deputy Secretary General of the Guangzhou Asian Para Games Organising Committee, Liu Jiangnan, Deputy Secretary General of GAGOC, and Ding Wuhao, President of 361°(China) Co., Ltd.

Models present the official uniforms of the 16th Asian Games at the debut ceremony.

Totally, there are three categories for volunteers, staff and technical officials of the Games respectively and each category is made up of one short-sleeve t-shirt, long-sleeve t-shirt, sport jacket, pair of trousers, hat, water bottle, pair of sport shoes and waist bag.

Volunteers will wear the green one, a symbol of the youthful spirit of volunteering, which also celebrates a green Asian Games and calls for citywide support to live a low carbon life.

The orange series is designed the staff who are anticipated to serve the Games with passion and dedication and are fully loaded with vigour and vitality while the blue one is for technical officials since the navy blue embodies fair play, equality and openness which the Olympic spirit worships.

The official uniforms for the 16th Asian Games are inspired by the ink and colour painting of the Lingnan style and basic visual elements of the image and look of the Games. The distinctive asymmetrical patterns boast the profound cultural heritage and modern values of Guangdong Province as a vivid illustration of "China feature, Guangdong style and Guangzhou glamour".

The Asian Games sportswear integrates the dye-sublimation technique and is made of eco-friendly fabrics of great elasticity and soft texture, which helps stay cool and dry.

At the debut ceremony, 361°(China) Co., Ltd., Prestige Partner of the Guangzhou Asian Games, was awarded for its outstanding contribution to the production of the 16th Asian Games official uniforms while South China Agricultural University earned the Best Design Award for the 16th Asian Games official uniforms.
