KIEV, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Tickets for Euro 2012 Soccer Championship, which runs from June 8 to July 1, have already been sold out, the local media reported Tuesday.

"Of the total pool of 1.4 million tickets, over half a million were conveyed to fans. The demand for them almost tenfold exceeded proposition," UEFA Events executive Martin Kallen was quoted as saying by Information Center "Ukraine-2012."

Some 12 million people from 206 countries and regions applied for tickets, a record number in the history of the championship, Kallen said.

He added that fans from Ukraine, Poland, England, Holland and Sweden were the most active in purchasing the tickets.

It will be impossible to sell, or exchange the ticket after April 10, when the final sales phase will be closed, Kallen said, adding that all tickets will be personalized to avoid fraudsters

Euro 2012 will be staged in Ukrainian cities of Kiev, Lvov, Donetsk and Kharkov and four Polish cities of Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan.
