NINGBO, China, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- China lost to Argentina 3-2 in a men's Pool F match at the FIVB Volleyball Olympic Qualification here on Sunday in five sets 25-19, 22-25, 21-25, 25-18 and 9-15.

China got an overwhelming start as Jiang Chuan attacked ferociously, taking a confident lead in the first set.

Argentina made some changes in the second set and pushed China back with a number of unexpected spikes.

In the third set, China regained momentum and took the lead from the start, but struggled to deal with pressure to secure the set and made unforced errors. Argentina turned the table around by seizing every opportunity to counter-attack.

After three straight wins, Argentina secures direct qualification to the Olympics.

"It's a pity that we came undone by our own errors," said China's Zhang Zhejia in an interview after the game, "we should improve our mentality and tactics. I believe that we have tried our best in the past three games. We will work hard for the Continental Qualification Tournaments on January."

As one of the 24 best world-ranked teams, China's men's volleyball team is aiming to secure Olympic qualification in the Continental Olympic Qualification Tournaments (COQT). Five Continental Olympic Qualification Tournaments will take place in Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, North and Center America between 6 and 12 January 2020. The winner of each of the five Continental Olympic Qualification Tournaments qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
