CHANGCHUN, China, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- China's Qi Guangpu and Xu Mengtao respectively claimed their second gold medals in as many days at the 2019-20 FIS Freestyle Aerials World Cup at the Shimao Lotus Mountain Ski Resort on Sunday.

Having scooped both golds in Saturday's session, Qi and Xu repeated the feat in Sunday's competition, with Qi finishing best of 21 competitors in the men's section after scoring 128.05 points for a routine rated 4.525 for difficulty.

"In fact, I just performed as usual, hoping to improve gradually," said Qi afterwards. Despite his double win, the Chinese noted that he had fallen below his own expectations after a year away from competition.

Russia's Maxim Burov took second place with 126.70 points, while Qi's compatriot Jia Zongyang, a silver medalist at the 2018 Winter Olympics, finished in third place with 123.90 points.

"After the Winter Olympics, I took one year off and had double knee surgery," Jia said. "So in the recovery stage, my overall performance is still inefficient. My current goal is to get used to the rhythm of competition again."

In the women's side, Xu scored 110.77 points to take gold ahead of Aliaksandra Ramanouskaya of Belarus, while Xu's compatriot Kong Fanyu took bronze.

In the Team Aerials, Russia finished first with 316.66 points. China 2, consisting of Kong, Yang Longxiao and Sun Jiaxu placed second, while the China 1 squad of Xu, Qi and Jia rounded out the top three.
