04.07.2005 - From 27 June to 11 July, the 2005 Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CP-ISRA) World Championships take place in New London, Connecticut, USA.

Hosted by the National Disability Sports Alliance (NDSA), the Championships will feature a world-class competition programme, including six Paralympic programme sports (Athletics, Cycling, Football 7-a-side, Powerlifting, Swimming, and Table Tennis) as well as Lawn Bowls, Cross-Country and Wheelchair Slalom. Around 1,000 athletes from 36 countries participate and fight for medals. Among other dignitaries, Alan Dickson, President of CP-ISRA and Governing Board member of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), will attend the Championships.

CP-ISRA is an independent organization recognized by the IPC as the sole representative of athletes with cerebral palsy to the IPC. It co-operates with the IPC in providing the disability specific expertise required to develop sport for athletes with a disability from the grass roots level to elite level.
