(BEIJING, June 23) -- Troy Dumais and Christina Loukas dominated the Men's and Women's 3m springboard, respectively, at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials this weekend to earn the first spots on the U.S. Olympic Diving Team. David Boudia and Laura Wilkinson followed with impressive performances of their own, qualifying for the team in the Men's and Women's 10m platform, respectively.
Dumais competed in the 2000 and 2004 Olympics and, along with Loukas, started the trials with extra points because of a strong performance at the 2008 World Cup. This will be Loukas first Olympic Games.
Perfect scores abounded in the 10m Platform events. Nineteen-year-old Boudia received 11 perfect 10s on Sunday his way to a 1642.2 point total, while Olympic gold medalist Wilkinson had seven 10s and finished with 1214.5 points.
