UAE's Dr Ahmed Al Sharif appointed FISpT vice chairman for Asia

10 Jun 2013, Athens, Greece: The International Sport for All Federation (FISpT) appointed UAE’s Dr Ahmed Al Sharif as continental vice chairman for Asia at the second Board of Directors meeting of the new cycle under the presidency of Bahrain’s Isa Abdulrahim in Athens recently. Dr Al Sharif has been actively involved in sport for the last 15 years and is expected to increase the profile of Sport for All in the highest populated countries in the world, potentially adding millions to the activities.

Abdulrahim and other board members discussed a number of topics, including the appointment of Kuwait to host an advanced level coaching course in 2015. A beginners’ level course will take place in Greece the same year, while Egypt is due to organise an advanced course for administration next year.

The board also approved Turkey to hold the second annual FISpT festival in October this year. Cyprus, Greece and the UAE will host the next three editions, from 2014 to 2016, respectively. Also present at the meeting were general secretary Dr Tareq Al Shebani, Kuwait’s Mishal Al Subaie, UAE’s Saeed Al Ajel, Dr Farooq Abdulqahab of Egypt, Ionna Moraiti and George Pigos of Greece, Turkey’s Dr. Erdal Zorba, Franco Ascani of Italy and Cameroon’s Ebrahim Oumate.

The FISpT has a number of objectives, such as organising international "Sport for All" meetings by means of symposia, conferences, regional and international seminars and congresses, adventure and sport explorations and study trips.
