Brief Introduction:
As a national sports organization of mass character affiliated to the All-China Sports Federation, the Chinese Sports Acrobatics Association came into its own in 1979 and in dependent of the Chinese Gymanstics Association. Its highest organ of power is the CSAA National Congress, the executive organ is the CSAA National Committee, and the secretariat is in charge of the administration work. 
With its unique artistic appeal, sports acrobatics has laid a good foundations for development in China. The 1st National Acrosport Demonstration was  held in 1956. A year later, it became an offical competitive event. At the 1st Chinese National Games in 1959 the acrobats' performances reached an international level. In 1963, the State Physical Culture and Sports Commission (now State Sport General Administration) issued the Grading Standards for Sports Acrobats, resulting the emergence of a number of Master Sportsmen at the national tournament held in Xi'an in the following year. China joined the International Sports Acrobatics Federation in 1979, and has since then participated in internaitonal tournaments with top honours.
