Foundation laid for Olympic Beach Volleyball Ground

(BEIJING, Dec. 28) -- The Olympic Beach Volleyball Ground in the Chaoyang Park of Beijing went into construction today.
Lying inside the Chaoyang Park on the East 4th ring road, the venue covers an area of 15 hectares and has a capacity of 12000 seats. It consists of one main competition ground, two courts for warm-ups and six for training.
It is one of the 9 temporary venues to be built for the Games. The stand and parts of the function rooms of the volleyball ground are designed for temporary use and will be removed after the Games.
The project is scheduled for completion by August 2007.
