(BEIJING, March 24) -- The ground-breaking ceremony of Beijing Shooting Range Clay Target Field (CTF) was held this morning to add one more competition venue to the 2008 Olympic Games.
One of the 11 Beijing-based Olympic venues to be renovated from the existing ones, the project is located at Shijingshan District. The site used to be the Shooting and Archery Center under the State General Administration of Sport.
The CTF will have a floor space of 6,170 square meters with a capacity of 5,000 seats, of which 1,047 are permanent and 3,953 temporary.
Expected to be completed by August 2007, the field will host six shooting disciplines, including men’s and women’s skeetshooting and trapshooting.
