(BEIJING, May 10) -- Now that the construction of the temporary venue for the triathlon event and urban road cycling course has begun in earnest in April, all venues for the Beijing Olympic Games are under construction and smooth progress has been made, according to the constructors' headquarters.

Among the 12 new venues to be built from scratch, Beijing Shooting Range Hall, Laoshan Velodrome and Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park are in the tail-out period and the rest of the nine projects are witnessing the installation of electro-mechanical equipment and decoration.

As far as the 11 renovated venues are concerned, the Fengtai Softball Field was completed in 2006 and workers are doing pipe-lining and decoration for the other 10 venues.

In the case of the eight temporary venues, or overlays, all of them are under construction. In six of them, including the Fencing Hall, Baseball Fields and Beach Volleyball Ground the installation of stand slabs and decoration is underway, their main structures having been completed.
