'Water Cube' gets water

The "water cube"

(BEIJING, August 31) -- The National Aquatics Center, or the "Water Cube," started to receive its drinkable water supply on Friday.

The Beijing Water Authority told the press that other Olympic venues such as the National Stadium, National Indoor Stadium, National Convention Center got their water supply at the same time.

The current water supply project for the Beijing Olympic Games covers a combined floor area of over a million square meters.

The running water can be drunk safely and directly, the Beijing News reported.
