(BEIJING, June 1) – On Saturday morning, BOCOG president Liu Qi visited several locations in Beijing, including Tsinghua University, Beijing Sport University, and Capital Institute of Physical Education, to investigate Olympic training centers, reported Beijing Daily.

He stressed that the creation of a high-quality training environment was not only essential not only in raising the level of quality of the training experience, but also in improving Games-time services to athletes from all over the world.

The first stop for the leaders was the training venue at Capital Institute of Physical Education, which includes the university's sports stadium, track, and swimming pool, among other facilities. During the Games, this area will be used by jujitsu, taekwondo, gymnastics, water polo, and football athletes for training.

Later, the inspectors took a look at the facilities at Tsinghua University. Here, Liu expressed satisfaction at the quality services and completed construction work of the training venue, encouraging the service team to continue their hard work. Basketball players, divers, and water polo players will be using these facilities during the Games.

A total of eight stadiums or centers make up the largest group of training facilities, located at Beijing Sport University. Football, volleyball, modern pentathlon, and gymnastics athletes will practice here for the Summer Games.

With 69 days to go until the Olympics, Liu urged organizers at the training stadiums to continue to solve any problems and troubleshoot any issues quickly and efficiently. A "Green Olympics, Hi-tech Olympics, People-oriented Olympics" is the aim of BOCOG, Liu remarked, explaining that quality training venues are necessary to welcome the world's top athletes.

Various BOCOG, city, and organization leaders, including Liu Peng, Wang Jun, and Liu Jingming, joined Liu Qi on the inspection tour.
