JAKARTA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia formed Thursday its Olympic squad for next month's Games in Beijing, with 11 out of the total 24 athletes being badminton players.
The five women weight-lifters, including Lisa Rumbewas, makes up the second largest group.
"We send the athletes to Beijing based on the qualifications. They have succeeded in a tight selection," President of Indonesian Olympics Committee Rita Subowo told Xinhua on Thursday.
Rita sets the target of at least one gold medal from badminton team.
"We stick in gold medal earning in the badminton sides. And for this year's Beijing Olympics, we are optimistic with at least one gold medal," she said.
Indonesian contingent consists of athletes from weight-lifting, track and field, swimming, archery, sailing and shooting.
