KCNA boosts DPRK Olympic athletes' morale

PONGYANG, July 31 (Xinhua) -- The official KCNA news agency of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) boosted its Olympic athletes' morale by recalling the brilliant records in Olympics.

The KCNA issued Thursday a story covering the DPRK athletes' gold medalists in the past Olympic Games. Among them were Ri Ho Jun, who won the shooting gold medal at the 1972 Munich Games.

It encouraged DPRK players to achieve good results and "enhance the fatherland's honor."

It said all the athletes were ample with confidence and resolved to gain good results.

The DPRK will send 63 athletes to take part in 11 events at the Beijing Olympics.
