GENEVA, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The International Equestrian Federation's (EFI) said Wednesday it will ban capsaicin-based analgesic.

Capsaicin, a derivative of the chilli pepper plant, can be used as a painkiller as it is rubbed in as a lotion to ease pain. It can also stimulate horses into jumping.

In addition to its painkilling properties capsaicin can increase sensitivity.

During the Summer Games, four riders were suspended after their horses tested positive for capsaicin.
