BEIJING, March 19 (Xinhua) -- The Court of Arbitration for Sport Thursday announced to lift the one-year ban imposed on Italian players Daniele Mannini and Daviede Possanzini after suspended the duo for doping offence.

A CAS panel of arbitrators received new evidence from the Italian Olympic Committee and the Italian Professional Football Association for the case.

"The panel will have to decide whether the additional evidence that has been submitted can be considered and, if so, whether it has any influence on the outcome of the CAS decision on January 29," CAS said in a statement on its Website.

Mannini and Possanzini were late to a random doping control after playing for Brescia in a Serie B game against Chievo Verona in December 2007. Both were cleared of wrongdoing by the national federation, then banned for 15 days by the Italian Olympic Committee in March 2008.

The World Anti-Doping Agency appealed that ruling and asked for worldwide two-year bans.

The CAS panel later ruled each received a one-year ban.
