RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- After having been recalled from the world athletics championships, three of the five Brazilian athletes were handed on Thursday a two-year suspension due to use of performance enhancing drugs.
Jorge Celio da Rocha Sena (200m and 4x100m), Bruno Lins Tenoriode Barros (200m and 4x100m) as well as Lucimara Silvestre da Silva(heptathalon) admitted to haven taken an illicit drug.
For their cooperation and recognition of having broken the rules of the International Athletics Association Federation (IAAF), the trio will each receive a minimum sentence of a two-year suspension.
But Josiane da Silva Tito (4x400m) and Luciana Franca (400m hurdles) have yet to comment.
Despite the trainers' resignation, the Brazilian Confederation of Athletics decided to suspend both Jayme Netto and Inaldo Sena from the sport as well.
