BOGOTA, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- President of the Colombian Federation of Cycling (Fedeciclismo) Plinio Casas said Thursday that two cyclists tested positive for use of prohibited substance in June's Colombia Tour.
Casas was quoted by local daily El Tiempo that he did not know the name and nationality of the sportsmen who tested positive.
"All the samples were taken before and during the competition, were sent to the United States or were analyzed in the Colombia Institute of Sports (Coldeportes) lab," Casas added.
Coldeportes lab is one of the few approved by the World Anti-doping Agency to taste competitors on the use of prohibited substances. The Colombian Tour was hosted from June 6 to 21.
"Only the UCI knows who those cyclists are. At the doping control in national events like the Tour, the samples are sent with codes to Coldeportes lab. We are waiting to know the names to proceed," Casas said.
Casas did not say which will be the punishment for those cyclists.
