HONG KONG, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- A teenage swimmer from Hong Kong, China, was banned by FINA for two years due to steroid positive, a Hong Kong official confirmed here on Monday.
According to Wong Man-chiu, Honorary Secretary of Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association Limited, Lau Chun-leung Johnny, 17, was tested positive for steroid after an International Open in Hong Kong this September and had received a two-year ban from FINA(Federation Internationale de Natation), the governing body of world swimming.
Tsang Tak-sing, Secretary for Home Affairs of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said Lau was not a member of the Hong Kong delegation for the 5th East Asian Games to be held here on Dec. 5-13.
