To mark its 10th anniversary, WADA is holding its annual end-of-the-year Executive Committee and Foundation Board meetings on December 1-2 in Stockholm, Sweden.

WADA was constituted as a Swiss private law foundation on November 10, 1999, following a joint initiative from the International Olympic Committee and governments of the world. The Agency held an initial Foundation Board Meeting on January 13, 2000, followed by a first full Board Meeting on March 22, 2000.

To celebrate a decade of Play True and WADA’s relentless commitment to doping-free sport, the Government of Sweden has offered to contribute to the hosting of the meetings on the continent where WADA was founded.

On this occasion, members representing governments of all regions of the world and the Olympic Movement will consider recent advances in anti-doping and will be updated on some of the Agency’s key activities. These include doping prevention, athlete education, anti-doping development, science, the Athlete Biological Passport Program, cooperation with law enforcement and pharmaceutical companies, ratification of the UNESCO International Convention against Doping in Sport by individual countries, as well as issues related to recent doping cases and investigations.

WADA has published a “Special Tenth Anniversary Issue” of its Play True Magazine. This issue highlights some of WADA’s most significant accomplishments and presents ideas for the way forward. It includes testimonials from athletes and other key actors in the fight against doping in sport. The new electronic version of Play True includes additional video clip messages from WADA’s President, Director General and other personalities.
