ADAMS Used for the First Time at South American Games

2010-04-01 09:37 WADA

March 31, 2010 - For the first time, the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR), in cooperation with WADA, used WADA’s Anti-Doping Administration & Management System (ADAMS) at the South American Games, which were held in Medellin, Colombia, from March 19-30.

ADAMS provided the organizers with a highly secure tool to plan, coordinate and manage their anti-doping program. In addition, training sessions were provided to the ODESUR Medical Commission. The experience gained during the South American Games will serve for upcoming events including the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

ADAMS is currently used by more than 100 anti-doping organizations around the world. The International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee used it at the recent Vancouver Games, and other Major Games organizers, including the Olympic Council of Asia, have implemented the system at main events.
