VIENNA, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Austria's anti-doping authority NADA announced on Tuesday that former Olympic silver medalist Stephanie Graf was suspended for two years on doping charges, six years after the runner ended her career.
NADA said Tuesday it was imposing the ban because Graf, runner-up in the women's 800 meters at the 2000 Sydney Games, had blood taken at a controversial Vienna laboratory at least once for doping purposes.
Graf, who retired shortly before the 2004 Athens Games, has denied any doping allegations.
But the 37-year-old has admitted having her blood taken at the Viennese laboratory Humanplasma, which has been repeatedly mentioned in connection with doping scandals.
NADA said the ban took effect on Monday.
