August 27, 2010 - Over 2,300 young athletes, coaches and other officials visited WADA’s Play True Generation Center during the Singapore Youth Olympic Games (August 14-26).

Athletes visiting the Center took the Play True Challenge, a computer-based simulation that show players the outcomes of their decision making, while coaches and other officials had the opportunity to experiment CoachTrue, WADA’s new learning tool for coaches, to acquire new knowledge about anti-doping.

The green Say NO! to Doping footballs and basketballs, which were awarded to athletes and officials who completed the activities, were extremely popular in the Youth Olympic Village. A Say No! to Doping basketball was even part of the on-court celebrations after the gold medal game of the basketball competition.

“We are very pleased with the outcome of WADA’s involvement in the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Culture and Education Program,” said WADA President John Fahey. “As one of the most popular activities in the Village Square, the Play True Generation Center was not only a place where young athletes and their entourage learned about anti-doping, but daily hundreds flocked to the Center to have fun and relax, associating WADA and the anti-doping community with something very positive.”
