MONTREAL, May 3, 2011 – The World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) Executive Committee and Foundation Board will meet respectively on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15, 2011 in Montreal.
Of particular interest will be the following topics:
Code Implementation and Compliance Report
Members representing governments from all regions across the world and the Olympic Movement will assess the positive developments made by the anti-doping community with regards to implementing the World Anti-Doping Code.
An interim update will be given on the Compliance Report and include a review of the implementation of Code-compliant programs.
Athlete Biological Passport and ADAMS
Members will also be given a detailed insight into the Athlete Biological Passport (ABP), its purpose as a successful means for effective targeting, and the need for ABPs to be incorporated into ADAMS (Anti-Doping Administration and Management System).
The ABP Program was approved by the WADA Foundation Board in 2009 and has shown to be a successful means of identifying possible anti-doping rules violations. As such, WADA continues to advise its stakeholders on the requirements to establish ABP programs.
Regional Anti-Doping Organizations
The Regional Anti-Doping Organizations’ role in the fight against doping in sport increases by the year. An update on their activities will be presented, and in particular their efforts to help member nations become compliant to the Code.
