29 August 2012 - China Anti-Doping Agency (CHINADA) released the first doping control data for this year on 28 August 2012. A total of 2, 309 anti-doping tests were carried out in 28 sports during January and April of 2012, among which stress was put on such sports as athletics, weightlifting, swimming as well as those combat and endurance sports.
For athletics, swimming, weightlifting, canoe-kayak, cycling, judo and rowing, the number of out-of-competition tests reached 1,437, accounting for over 60% of the total.
For athletics alone, the No. 1 danger zone, CHINADA has conducted 557 tests both in and out of competition, including 511 urine tests and 46 blood tests.
Following athletics 240 tests were done for second-ranked swimming, 232 for weightlifting, 137 for both rowing and judo, 130 for cycling and 126 for canoe-kayak.
For skiing and shooting, which have had major national competitions this year, there were also a significant number of tests being carried out.
