TEHRAN, January 9, 2013 - Iran’s Sport Medicine Federation (ISMF) and the Iranian Sports Journalists Association held a one-day anti-doping workshop for the country's sports writers at the ISMF headquarter in the capital city of Tehran.
Dr Lotfali Pourkazemi, ISMF President and the secretary general of National Anti-Doping Organization, gave a presentation at the workshop on Tuesday, focusing on doping issues, such as the prohibited list of substances, the history of doping and anti-doping measures.
The members of ISJA Executive Committee, headed by Dr Abdolhamid Ahmadi, took part in the educational program. Manouchehr Zandi, Bahman Asadi, Maziar Nazemi, Reza Khosravi, Mostafa Lashgari and Anoushiravan Aryamanesh were among the well-known Iranian sport journalists who attended the event.
Dr Ahmadi considered the workshop as part of the Agreement signed between ISMF and Iranian NSJA, raising hope over further interaction between Sport Medicine Federation and sport journalists.
Dr Pourkazemi praised the country’s sport media for welcoming sport science issues. He hoped that the move would help boost measures against doping in sport society.
At the end of the workshop, the attendees received a certificate from Iran’s Sport Medicine Federation and Iranian Sports Journalists Association. (By Sara Alambeigi and Abdolreza Nabatchian, Iranian Sports Journalists' Association)
