Russian long jumper banned for doping

MOSCOW, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Russian long jumper Tatyana Kotova had been banned for a provisional doping case, the Russian Anti- Doping Agency announced Friday.

The three-time world indoor champion had a sample at the 2005 World Championships tested positive after a re-exam.

RUSADA released a statement, saying, "The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), after hearing back from the WADA-accredited Laboratory in Lausanne, initiated a review of a possible anti-doping rule violation by Russian athlete Tatyana Kotova."

Kotova "has been suspended from participating in any capacity in a training camp or competition as of January 29, 2013 until the decision has been rendered on the case."
