ANKARA, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- The disciplinary board of the Turkish Athletics Federation (TAF) has suspended Nevin Yanit for two years due to doping violations, Today's Zaman reported on Wednesday.
Yanit was referred to the TAF's disciplinary board after she tested positive last February, said the report, adding that the national athlete appealed the decision and another test was conducted, also showing Yanit used illegal substances.
According to the TAF disciplinary board on Wednesday, Yanit was suspended from all competitions for two years.
Earlier this month, the board suspended 31 other athletes for using banned substances.
Turkish athletics has been shaken by numerous doping scandals recently and TAF President Mehmet Terzi last month stepped down.
