SEARADO partners with leading ADOs to advance anti-doping efforts

March 11, 2014 - The South East Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organization (SEARADO) in cooperation with WADA has partnered with leading Anti-Doping Organizations JADA and UKAD to advance its Results Management training following a recent Board Meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The training was offered to all represented countries at the February 26 meeting, which included Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. 

The meeting highlighted the strong collaboration between Anti-Doping Organizations, and followed on from the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between SEARADO and JADA in which they agreed to participate together on anti-doping projects.

Participant countries discussed the implementation of their anti-doping rules in line with the forthcoming 2015 World Anti-Doping Code. It was also confirmed that a Seminar on Intelligence and Investigation would be held in Singapore in 2015, as part of the new emphasis the revised Code will place on information sharing and investigations.

“The SEARADO Board Meeting that took place in Vietnam resulted in a number of positive outcomes, which will assist in the Code Implementation process and, more broadly, will assist anti-doping in sport as we look ahead to the arrival of the revised Code,” said Rob Koehler, WADA Director of Education & Program Development.

“Increasingly, we are seeing ADOs collaborating with the goal of sharing their own expertise and enhancing the impact anti-doping in sport has across the world. This is an encouraging sign, and something that we hope continues as the 2015 Code comes into effect on January 1.”
