KUALA LUMPUR, August 10, 2014 - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Disciplinary Committee has yesterday handed out two-year bans to two players for doping offenses pursuant to the AFC Anti-Doping Regulations.
Avchiev Takhir of Kyrgyzstan and Doan Ngoc Hao of Vietnam had both tested positive for banned substances, a violation under Article 5 of the Regulations.
Avchiev failed the doping control test following Kyrgyzstan’s match against Palestine on May 19 during the AFC Challenge Cup 2014. He tested positive for Norandrosterone and is now banned from taking part in any football-related activity (which includes futsal and beach soccer) for two years beginning from the date his provisional suspension was imposed, June 7, 2014 till June 6, 2016.
Doan Ngoc Hao meanwhile tested positive for levo-methamphetamine following Vietnam’s match against Iraq on April 30 at the AFC Futsal Championship 2014. He has also been banned from taking part in any football-related
activity (which includes futsal and beach soccer) for two years, beginning from the date his provisional suspension was imposed, May 26, 2014 till May 25, 2016.
Both players are able to appeal the suspension to the AFC Appeal Committee in accordance with Article 61 of the AFC Anti-Doping Regulations and Article 118 of the AFC Disciplinary Code. The Football Federation of
Kyrgyz Republic and the Vietnam Football Federation have both been notified of the decisions.
