November 4, 2014 - As the President of WADA, I would today like to acknowledge the 25th Anniversary of the Council of Europe’s Anti-Doping Convention.

This month marks the passing of 25 years since the Anti-Doping Convention was open for signature, and I am pleased to say it has now been ratified by all 47 European countries and several other states.

Arriving ten years before WADA was formed, the Convention set the world well on its way to harmonizing measures to tackle doping across all boundaries.

It is pleasing to see today that the occasion is being marked by a special conference in Strasbourg to discuss the Convention.

On behalf of WADA, I would like to thank everyone involved for their continued efforts to maintain clean sport.
