A New Year reception for sports journalists was given by the General Administration of Sport of China at the GASC headquarters in Beijing on the evening of January 27, 2006.

At the reception GASC Director Liu Peng thanked all the sports officials and workers for their long-time support for China's sports undertaking and wished them a very happy New Year of the Dog.

Attending the reception were some hundred sports officials and journalists from the China Sports Press Association, sports departments at different levels and various press institutions. Picture shows Shao Shiwei, deputy head of the BOCOG press and publicity department, is all smiles after receiving a Lenovo PC, the top prize for a Lucky Draw that evening, from the GASC chief Liu Peng.
