On the evening of August 6, 2007, Liu Peng, Director of the General Administration of Sport of China and President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, gave a banquet in Grand Hotel Beijing in honor of Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee, who made a special trip to Beijing to attend the Chefs de Mission Seminar on August 7-9 and the celebrations marking the one-year countdown to the 2008 Olympic Games.
