(Beijing, January 20) During the 2009 National Conference for Sports Directors the 2009 Plenary Session of the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) was held at Beijing's Sport Unviersity on January 20, 2009. COC President and GASC Director Liu Peng delivered the Report on the Work of the COC in 2008, which was unanimously approved by all the delegates, together with the proposals on amendments to the COC statutes and COC personnel changes, and the addition to the COC managing executive list.

At the end of the session the COC leaders awarded IOC prizes and Olympic pins to a number of outstanding Chinese athletes who had achieved medals of different colors at the 2008 Olympic Games. Zhang Xiangxiang, gold medalist in the men's 62kg weightlifting, and Zhang Shuo, one of the silver medalists in the rhythmic gymnastics all-around group who had helped rewrite China's rhythmic gymnastics history, received the prizes on behalf of all the prize winners.
