July 19, 2009 - The opening ceremony of the 2009 FINA World Swimming Championships was held in Rome, Italy on July 18, 2009. Wu Minxia, Olympic double winner in the women's 3m springboard synchro for both 2004 and 2008, was the flagbearer for China in the ceremony.
