(Beijing, February 17) On the evening of February 16, the third day into the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Liu Peng, President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, gave a Chinese New Year reception in Vancouver and celebrated the traditional Chinese lunar new year - the Year of the Tiger - with people from in and outside China. Jacques Rogge, President of the International Olympic Committee, came to the reception in person to pay a New Year call to all those present and congratulated the Chinese Sports Delegation on winning China's first gold medal at the Vancouver Games.
