Yunfu welcomes Guangzhou Asian Games torch

Yunfu, October 30 - The 16th Asian Games Torch Relay arrived in Guangdong city Yunfu on Saturday (October 30). Yunfu was the hometown of Huineng, the Sixth Patriarch of Chán (Zen) Buddhism in Tang Dynasty.

The first torchbearer was Feng Yumei, a gold medalist in Women's Team Foil at the Guangdong Provincial Games.

Finishing his run, No. 10 torchbearer Yang Tiecheng kneeled down and lit "The Tide" held by Qi Cuifang in her wheelchair.

Jia Wenjun, a veteran sports journalist and accredited reporter for the Guangzhou Asian Games, was the 49th torchbearer in Yunfu.

The 80th and last torchbearer was Zou Shiming, a boxing champion at the Beijing Olympics and Doha Asian Games who will defend his title in Guangzhou.
