(Beijing, 25 May 2011) At an official ceremony held at Beijing Sport University on 24 May 2011, a special sports foundation named "Champions Foundation" was launched jointly by China Red Cross Foundation (CRCF) and Yang Yang, Member of the International Olympic Committee and China's first winter Olympic champion in short-track speed skating, for the benefits of Chinese youth and their physical education and career development of retired athletes in China.
Four representatives of former elite Chinese athletes and four FESCO trainers received the certificates of "Ambassador of Athletes Career Training" at the launch ceremony, which was attended by IOC Vice President Yu Zaiqing, IOC Executive Member Frank Fredericks and officials from the CRCF and various institutions and organizations in China.
