11 June 2012, Beijing - On 10 June, 2012, the 26th Olympic Day Run was held concurrently in 11 Chinese cities, namely Beijing, Tianjin, Chongqing, Shenyang, Xiamen, Hefei, Dalian, Chengde, Huainan, Jiujiang and Songyuan. Since 1987 China has seen 25 editions of the Olympic Day Run organized by the Chinese Olympic Committee.
In Beijing, this year's Olympic Day celebration attracted 10,000 people who started from the National Stadium known as the Bird's Nest. The runners, divided into 5 teams composed of 25 400-member groups, donned 5 colors of red, yellow, blue, green and black to represent the Olympic Five Rings and finished the 5-kilometer run around the Olympic Park in high spirit.
