11 January 2012 - At a gala evening party organized by the Local Organizing Committee in northeast China's Shenyang, Liaoning Province on 9 January 2013, four local celebrities were named ambassadors for the 12th National Games to be held in Shenyang and other cities in Liaoning in August-September.

The four ambassadors are: Lang Lang (L-1), the world-famous pianist, Zhang Ning (R-2), Olympic women's badminton champion (Athens 2004/Beijing 2008), Sun Yujie (L-2), Olympic women's epee champion (London 2012) and Zhao Junzhe (R-1), captain of the Liaoning provincial football team.
