MANILA, 4 May 2013 (Xinhua) -- Former Chinese basketball superstar Yao Ming arrived in Manila on the evening of 3 May for friendship games at the invitation of the Philippine Sports Commssion (PSC).

During the visit, Yao Ming, former NBA star, will lead a basketball clinic for poor children in Pasig in Metro Manila, the country's capital region, on 5 May.

Yao and his Shanghai Sharks, which came to the country a day earlier, will hold two exhibition games respectively with the Smart Gilas Team and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Selection on 6-7 May.
