23 July 2013 - On Day 3 of the 15th FINA World Championships held at the Palau Sant Jordi of Barcelona, Spain, China's synchronised swimming stars Jiang Wenwen and Jiang Tingting, who took a duet technical bronze in Rome in 2009, devised a sophisticated routine to challenge Russia's dominance. Showing good technique, body control and elegance, the 27-year-old twins earned an overall 94.900 points to take the silver medal, their eighth medal at world level and probably the last one since they plan to retire after these Championships.
Russia's 2012 London Olympic silver medalist Svetlana Romashina and her new partner Svetlana Kolesnichenko performed a complex routine, marked by technical perfection, speed and dynamism, claimed the title with a total score of 97.300 points.
