12 August 2014 - The Youth Olympic Village (YOV) of the Second Summer Youth Olympic Games officially opened in the host city of Nanjing of east China's Jiangsu Province on 12 August 2014.
Covering a site area of 140,000 square meters and a total building area of 500,000 square meters, the Youth Olympic Village is comprised of six residential buildings and four supporting buildings, which will provide accommodation, catering and other services for some 6,000 athletes, team officials and young reporters to the Games and also serve as the venue for the Games-time chefs de mission meetings and Culture and Education Programme (CEP) activities.
